Alongside our full equipped surgical theatre allows us to perform most surgeries that your pet may require.

We can perform most soft tissue surgeries onsite including: desexing, exploratory laparotomies, caesareans, lump removals, biopsies, surgical wound repairs – the list goes on!

Our expert staff and anaesthetic facilities allow us to administer general anaesthesia with a high level of safety. We understand how important your pets are and we treat them like our own. Rest assured; your pet is in good hands! We have a dedicated theatre vet nurse that will look after your pet from start to finish when they visit for a procedure.

For more advance procedures such as major orthopaedic (bone) surgeries or knee reconstructions (TPLO), we can arrange visiting surgical specialist vets.

What to do before a surgery:

  • Make a booking for your pet’s surgery – procedures are performed on weekdays at the Flemington Vet Hospital. A team member will arrange an admission time in the morning.
  • For dogs, give them a bath 1-2 days before surgery as they are unable to be washed for 10-12 days after surgery.
  • Empty stomach – do not give your pet food after midnight on the night before your pet’s surgery. They can have water overnight but no breakfast on the morning of the surgery.
